 There is often a certain warmth and down-to-earth homeliness about most family-run business – characteristics no doubt brought about humble beginnings and a real passion by the owners. The same holds true for Kim's kitchen which was founded by Madam Tan Swee Kim, an avid cook who believes in providing wholesome meals for her family. In her own words, it is about 'cooking from the heart'.
Madam Tan started Kim's Kitchen from a shop house in Joo Chiat in 2000 and specialized in tingkat delivery. She was so confident about her food and service that she was the first to introduce the 5-day trial period that were to become standard practice for most tingkat delivery services. Business grew as Kim's Kitchen became a household name for delivering well-cooked meals to busy families. Within a few years, it outgrew the space at Joo Chiat and relocated to a 3,500 sq ft purpose-built facility where meals for 2,000 households are prepared daily.
 Their reputation spread and they started receiving media coverage including Her World magazine, Channel 8's 'Good Morning Singapore' and Channel U's 'Artist Buffet Occasion'. With additional exposure, Kim's Kitchen is now familiar name among event companies and corporate circles for affordable F&B solutions catered for a spectrum of budget and requirements. Packages start from $10 per person for a standard buffet. Halal catering is also available through King's Kitchen (Catering), a subsidiary of Kim's Kitchen.
